Full and Half Day Primary Program

"Early childhood education is the key to the betterment of society."
~Maria Montessori

School doesn't have to hurt! Montessori is a truly joy filled educational experience.

Montessori Primary education is an integrated, holistic approach that is designed to help each child reach his or her full potential. Children aged 2 ½ to 6+ are sensorial explorers, forming their intellects by absorbing their environment, their language and their culture. The Primary Classroom (Children's House) provides a prepared environment that allows the child to respond to their natural tendency to work.

In addition to the Atrium, THIS ENVIRONMENT INCLUDES FOUR DISTINCT AREAS:

Child baking pancakes on griddle

Practical life

Practical life teaches care of self and the environment, exercises of grace and courtesy, and coordination of physical movement.

Child working with knobbed cylinders at a table

Sensorial

With sensorial materials, children learn to order and classify by touching, seeing, smelling, tasting, listening, and exploring.

Child being shown stamp game by teacher

Mathematics

Mathematics helps children understand abstract concepts by working with concrete manipulatives.

Child practicing writing a cursive letter on a chalk board

Language

The Language area teaches oral and written language, vocabulary, reading, and grammar.
